Claudia’s Senior Portraits | Sarasota Senior Photographer
Every once in a while, I have a session that reminds me all over again why I love what I do so much!! Claudia’s senior portrait session was absolutely one of those…
This girl has the most beautiful heart! She has so much sparkle, kindness and sweetness in her, and you can truly see it in her eyes. Her spirit is contagious, and photographing her as a high school senior felt extra special because I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow up in front of my camera! ✨
It honestly feels like yesterday that I was photographing Claudia as a little girl. And somehow, here we are — Class of 2027!
A Sarasota Senior Session With a Family I Adore
Claudia’s family lives in Ohio but spends time here in Florida at their beautiful beach on Longboat Key Club. I’ve photographed their family over the years, including one of Claudia’s older sisters for her senior portraits, and every time I see their name pop up on my phone, my heart is happy!
They are one of those families who simply fill my cup…to the RIM!
There are four sisters altogether, and I’ve loved getting to know their mom and watching these girls grow. Being invited back to document another milestone for their family means more to me than I can put into words….
Downtown Sarasota Senior Pictures
For Claudia’s senior session, we spent part of our time exploring Downtown Sarasota and Burns Court, two of my favorite areas for senior photography.
I love senior sessions that have variety, and downtown Sarasota gives us so much to work with — interesting architecture, little streets and corners, texture and that cool city feeling that looks amazing paired with great clothes.
And Claudia definitely brought the clothes!
She wore the most beautiful Free People dresses and has such an incredible sense of personal style. Claudia works at a clothing store and has a real interest in fashion, with dreams that may someday include owning a clothing store of her own…
I absolutely loved hearing about her plans, interests and ideas for the future as we moved from location to location.
That is one of my favorite things about photographing high school seniors. You’re meeting them at this incredible moment when they have one foot in childhood and the other stepping into this huge, exciting world ahead of them.
Mom, Dad & a Senior Portrait Adventure
One of the sweetest parts of Claudia’s session was having her mom there with us the entire time.
There’s something about watching a mom watch her daughter during senior pictures that gets me every time. You can see the pride, the love and probably a little bit of how did we get here already?
Meanwhile, Dad earned his official senior-session-driver title, taking us around Sarasota from one location to the next. 😂
It really did feel less like a photo shoot and more like spending an afternoon with people I love!
Finishing Her Senior Portraits on Longboat Key
We ended Claudia’s session back at their beach on Longboat Key, which couldn’t have been more perfect.
After the city feel of Downtown Sarasota and Burns Court, we finished with the quiet beauty of the beach. Their stretch of Longboat Key is secluded and peaceful and gave us an entirely different look for the final part of her senior portraits…
It was dreamy🤍
And I’ll admit it — I was holding back tears.
I kept thinking about that little girl I photographed years ago and looking at this beautiful, kind, confident young woman standing in front of my camera.
How did that happen so quickly?
Why I Love Being a Sarasota Senior Photographer
Senior year is such a pivotal time.
There is so much ahead — college decisions, friendships, lasts and firsts, excitement, uncertainty and enormous dreams about what life might look like after graduation.
Claudia is interested in attending college here in Florida, which makes me ridiculously excited for her, and I loved hearing all about what she is considering for her future.
This is exactly why high school senior photography has such a big piece of my heart.
A senior portrait session isn’t just about having a pretty picture for graduation. It’s about documenting who your child is right now — their personality, their style, their interests and that little spark that makes them completely themselves.
Because this age passes so quickly.
And someday, these are the photographs that will bring you right back to it.
Sarasota Senior Portraits | Class of 2027
If you have a Class of 2027 senior and are looking for a Sarasota senior photographer, I would absolutely love to photograph them.
Senior sessions are customized around each senior and can include multiple looks and locations throughout Sarasota, Downtown Sarasota, Burns Court, Longboat Key and our beautiful Sarasota beaches. We’ll plan a session that feels like them — from wardrobe and locations to all of the little details that make their senior portraits unique.
And after the session, I can help you turn those photographs into something you’ll actually enjoy for years to come — beautiful albums, prints and artwork for your home rather than leaving your favorite images forgotten somewhere on a phone or computer.
Senior year goes by unbelievably fast.
Photograph it.
Print it.
Keep it.
Because before you know it, that little girl you swear you just photographed yesterday is getting ready to graduate. 🤍
xoxo
