There is something incredibly special about photographing a family as it grows — but getting to come back years later and photograph the next chapter? That is one of my absolute favorite parts of being a Sarasota newborn photographer.
Five years ago, I had the honor of photographing sweet Liam for his newborn portrait session! I remember falling in love with this family then, so when I heard the wonderful news that they were growing their family again — this time with twin baby girls! — I was beyond excited!!!

A Beautiful New Chapter for a Family of Five
So much has changed since Liam’s newborn session five years ago. A new home, a new season of life and love, and now two precious baby girls have made this sweet family a family of five.
Walking into their home for their newborn photography session in Sarasota felt so special! The love this family has for one another is impossible to miss. They are warm, caring, and completely smitten with these two tiny girls — and honestly, who could blame them?
Gwyneth and Isla were absolutely beautiful. They were tiny, perfect and even gave us some of the sweetest little newborn smiles!
I have always loved photographing newborn twins. There is something so amazing about the way twins naturally fit together. After spending months side by side, they seem to settle into one another so perfectly. Photographing those tiny details — two little faces, tiny fingers and toes, and the way they curl up beside each other — is pure magic.
The Sweetest Big Brother
And then there was Liam.
Watching the little newborn I photographed five years ago step into his new role as big brother to twin baby sisters completely melted my heart.
He was so sweet and loving with Gwyneth and Isla, and you could already see how much he adores them. Those sibling photographs are some of my favorites to create during a newborn session because they tell such an important part of the family’s story.
One day, these girls will be bigger. Liam will be bigger. Life will look completely different.
But they will always have these photographs showing just how tiny his baby sisters once were — and just how much their big brother loved them from the very beginning.
Why Newborn Photos Matter So Much
The newborn stage is beautiful, exhausting, emotional and incredibly fleeting.
When you are living it, the days can feel long. You are feeding babies, changing diapers, adjusting to new routines and probably surviving on very little sleep. And then somehow you blink and those tiny newborn days are gone.
That is why I love creating newborn and family portraits so much.
Photographs have this incredible ability to bring it all back — how tiny your baby felt in your arms, the little newborn expressions, the way your older child looked at their new sibling, and what your family looked like at the very beginning of this brand-new chapter.
You may not remember every detail of those first few weeks, but your photographs can help you remember how it felt.

It is such an honor when a family chooses me to document one of the most important times in their lives. And when a family comes back years later and trusts me all over again? That means more to me than I can say.
I photographed Liam as a newborn.
And now I get to photograph Gwyneth and Isla.

This is why I love my job. I get to watch families grow, create beautiful moments with them, and turn those moments into photographs they can hold onto long after the newborn days have passed.
